The San Andreas State Police. To protect and serve. Protect who? Recently, there was a robbery at the mirage art gallery. Nothing out of the ordinary. 6 masked criminals entered the gallery with the intent to rob it. However there were a few strange occurrences. Firstly, they had eight hostages. Most of which were affiliated or part of the widely known group “The Raccoons”. A religious movement very easily recognized by their racoon masks and chrome vehicles. Secondly, the suspects decided on using multiple escape vehicles. (some reports state 4.) all of which being super or high end sports cars. Below is the beginning of a statement given to the Sentinel from the Raccoon known as Emma:

“a week ago myself and bendy were taken hostage for a mirage robbery with 6 other people. The gentleman who took us wanted to make a point to the police and that it was probably going to end in a firefight. They said they didn’t want to hurt us but they might depending on the police actions. There were six of them. They put us in the back.”

Already a tense situation, the hostages had no choice but to comply. They hid in the back, lined up against the wall. Multiple criminals standing over them with shotguns in hand. Terrified for their lives. She continues with:

“The police never laid eyes on us. They kept saying they didnt want to hurt us but when negotiations started there really wasnt any negotiating. Police refused to let them use more than 2 of their 4 cars they had outside. There was zero negotiation.”

Unfortunately, the lack of negotiations broke down into violence. Violence that ended very poorly for nearly everyone involved, but worst of all the defenseless hostages. But could it have been avoided?

“The negotiating officer (Sr. Ofc. Jerry Kennedy) said “womp womp” to their demands and they breached (called by 103 Cpt. Seth Kennedy). The suspects shot us all down a la firing line. I had to watch everyone else get shot gunned. Most of them ended up in the ICU. I was lucky and was protected by bendy. It took 45 minutes for police to secure the scene and give us medical attention. I had to watch everyone bleeding and dying. Once the police got to medical, they prioritized themselves and suspects and left us for last. Of the 8 hostages, 6 ended up in the ICU. The police claimed that they took people in order of severity but we find that hard to believe. Only one officer ended up in the ICU”

That alone sounds horrifying and painful. A 45 minute gunfight happening over you while you lay there with your loved ones bleeding out. However, the events dont end there.

The next day bendy and i went to the police station to give our statement and identify ourselves. When i told them they didn’t have ours they said they asked for it on scene which is untrue. They went on to say they didn’t care about who we were and didn’t need to know. They told us they DIDN’T say womp womp even though they told us otherwise earlier today (11/23/25). They told us they can’t let the criminals keep getting away with things. The officers were coming off as proud of the fact they said womp womp. When I asked about not taking my statement earlier they asked why I didn’t come forward earlier.

The victims of the vicious attack are pursuing legal action towards the police department and have even taken very serious stances regarding the possibility of being taken as hostages again in the future.

“In terms of the outcome of all of this, we are attempting to sue. We are waiting to speak with a lawyer. We wanted to make this story known as they appear to be trying to push it under the rug. As a group, we have decided it’s safer to refuse to be hostages and fight back and be shot down in the street than lay in a backroom and bleed out while we wait for the police to help us. We aren’t suing for the money. We want this to be brought to light and people to be held accountable.”

Another raccoon named Bendy we spoke with had this to say about the situation:

I am not even upset about their hand being forced. The criminals made sure their hand would be forced. I’m upset about how they handled it and their “bedside manner” . We were treated like nothing. Meat. Trash. I believe it is better to resist where they try to take us. To put faith in my friends, ems, and even the police to help me on the streets. Far better than to be bleeding in a back room, behind a storm of gun fire for forty minutes trying to will the blood to seep more slowly out of your body.”

The sentinel reached out to the SASP for a statement. Lt. Moe Gilgully and Cpt. Seth Kennedy had the following to say:

“We have no comment other than what has been stated on the public docket. We will not be discussing ongoing cases at this time.”

Stay tuned for more updates as there is likely more to come.
