Most people know of the pumpkin patch at Paw Farm that opens up every year around October, thank you to our lovely Parks Department for taking the time to set up and run it for us!

I think most can say the patch has been around as long as they remember? At least 2-3 years seems to be the general consensus. Last year however, you could not carve your pumpkin at the farm and only at home. This year you can see all three templates and get help carving them on the spot! They make perfect accessories, and will be my entire October personality!

The pumpkins are not only for show however delicious soup, bread and pie can be made from these ethically farmed orange mounds. The recipes can be found in the cook books you can buy from grocery stores around the state!

The first opening of the pumpkin patch was plentiful. The corn maze seemed to have some people scared with the spooky decorations, real or not? Who’s to say? (That’s a joke, they’re not real).

We also heard the cows like to wander into the patch, maybe they like the taste or simply want to be part of the fun? Specifically they seemed to want to photobomb the pictures being taken. I asked for names of these notorious criminals and the cows Betsy and Dolly have been banished to the barn to allow the park’s employees some relief.

I also heard there will be a spooky season event on the 17th held by the Parks department at the paw farm! Tricks and treats, K9 games, music and more will happen from 4pm – 6pm EST on the 17th! Don’t miss it!
